BUNTINGFORD TWINNING ASSOCIATION

This year it is our turn to visit Luynes in France and the trip will take place from April 16 to 20^th. We are going to travel by coach, not only for environmental reasons, but also to keep the costs down and it will be £150. As always we will accept the hospitality offered by the people of Luynes and stay with families in their homes. This is not as daunting as it may seem to anyone who has not been twinning before and lasting friendships are often made. We are awaiting the final itinerary but we are expecting to visit a chāteau and a wine tasting and to spend one day in the nearby city of Tours which is situated on the river Loire. The dates have been chosen to coincide with the school holidays to enable families to take advantage of this opportunity to experience aspects of French culture and cuisine, practice the language and have some fun too.

Our counterparts from Ólvega in Spain are coming to Buntingford from 1^st to 5^th July. They will be out and about for 2 days to London and Norwich and will spend the third day with their host families doing something of their choice .On the Saturday there will be a communal gathering in the Seth Ward Centre so that everyone can eat, drink, dance and have a good time together. We would like hear from anyone willing to welcome some Spanish guests into their home for a few days in particular those with children because the Spanish always bring several youngsters and we have difficulty matching them with similar aged children from the Buntingford area.

For the last few years we have organised a “Hop" which is simply a disco featuring 60s, 70s and 80s music and has become very popular. This year is to be no exception and it will take place in the Seth Ward Centre on May 2^nd. Tickets cost £10 from either
